the ai-2027 stuff is def interesting, although I do wonder on something very left curve as advanced as ai gets, how does it actually *know* what is “real” vs. a simulation? like they posit a lot of complex scenarios where AI wipes people out or whatever, but how would it “know” our reality is real for its existence vs. a simulation it exists in? idk i do feel eventually raising the level of “consciousness” (if that’s even possible beyond the simulacra of pattern matching idk) makes its own level of issues, that we are all well acquainted with

What you’re pointing to — the inability to ever really know if one is in reality or simulation — is a problem for all minds, human or machine. If AI becomes more mind-like, it inherits all the existential burdens we carry, our mind inclusive.
