Spent my afternoon in DMV bureaucracy land and wow...the contrast between what we're building and the opportunities we see with emerging tech vs. how NYC residents actually interact with systems today is staggering. Got pulled over driving my daughter to her NY Algebra Regents. Turns out a 1-day insurance lapse last September (from a credit card update!) triggered a registration issue. Apparently I was notified once via snail mail. Car had to be surrendered and towed. $300 + 4 hrs later, I got it back. Wild how we’re building the future while the city still runs on snail mail. Massive opportunity for someone to fix this experience gap.
