Yeah figured as much, I didn’t see anything specifically about crons being affected in their status messaging so I was curious.

This whole thing is a compelling reason to roll my own servers on linode or something instead of relying on wrappers

Classic Ubuntu server (usually on DigitalOcean. Sometimes I use AWS or GCP). 

I will typically leave Vercel to host the frontend. But all the backend logic, DB, cron, K18s or Docker containers, etc. I host on the Ubuntu machine(s). 

All traffic of course reverse proxied through Nginx, firewall secured, IP restricted, and routed through Cloudflare. 

It’s a headache but the benefit is flexibility and cost-effectiveness at scale.

i am extremely old fashioned in this regard and still host everything myself. i just don't trust these abstractions to hold up. plus they're expensive at scale.

my old sysadmin days just never seem to die.
