I’ve noticed something about myself & I’m wondering if it’s a personal quirk or a more universal experience.

If I leave a negative first impression on someone, bc of bad luck or a small mistake or something, I tend to notice that I am often a worse version of myself in future interactions with them. Anyone else?

It could be the same factors at work the whole time. A personality disconnect, etc., could make it feel like you gave a bad first impression and also make later interactions feel bad/worse. Some people just don't "click" no matter what, even if you think they're a good person or your friends like them or whatever.
