Don’t get me wrong though, I’d never make it there. But I still think we could learn some things. Especially about how they handle civil service.

China is real democracy, no joke.  
Pass the exam, then you can enter politics or top universities - no need your senator parents' recommendation letter or big money.  
Officials mess up, they face punishment, not just resignation.

Not so much concerned with getting to the top as having a really competent civil service. 

We can’t even build anything in America anymore. I think that is in part because our civil service is basically a good ole boy network.
