I’ve also been thinking about quitting Spotify. But I don’t think switching to Apple, YouTube, or Tidal is the answer. I’d rather go back to buying the music I listen to and actually getting the files, so I can download them and play them on whatever music player I want

As an ‘old head’ from the mid-seventies I never stopped. I always got something for my money - even for live shows, because that was the cost, buying merch was a souvenir, extra love to an artist I listened to often. Hasn’t changed for me really, except newer artists have a tougher time vying for my attention.
