cheaper housing would help solve a lot of problems: - more people would start families (more babies instead of cats/dogs) - less loneliness - improved mental/physical health - reduce homelessness etc etc all of these problems seem to be getting worse and they are all downstream of housing being expensive (even the case for really smart software engineers). not saying this is the only thing but definitely seems like a good one to focus on.

Agreed, but how would you do that in a sustainable way? Feels like the economy is in deadlock at times

think the big problem is governments making it hard to build more housing (i’m not very educated on why they make it so hard though) if you let people build more and bigger and sell it for the current normal prices (high) the market should adjust over time? that is just my smoothbrain take
