Tip for folks thinking of moving to LA: if you like sun and warmth, don't live on the west side. If you like a slightly warmer version of SF though, the west side is great!

If you want to live close-ish to the beach, somewhere like Baldwin Hills or East Culver. If I had to move again in LA, I'd probably be somewhere east like Atwater Village or Highland Park.

Interesting, thanks! I recently moved to LA, currently staying with family. Deciding where to settle long-term. Will keep in mind and check these places out π

Lived here over 30 years and my recommendation is to live somewhere walkable to nearby amenities - groceries, coffee, quick bites, etc. Not getting in your car is a huge benefit. Some examples are: Montana Ave in SM, Main Street in SM, Larchmont Village. There's new areas popping up under the radar. Good luck.

thanks for feedback! currently staying @ wife's parents place, top of encino hills. ofc miss the walkability of europe, but obsessed with the peace and nature think we're leaning toward somewhere isolated/with beautiful views :) will check out all your recomms!
