How to Spot the New Wave of Inauthentic Accounts 


1. They regularly comment on high profile accounts (check any of Dan’s latest casts)
2. This group has about ~700 followers each
3. They all have connected Twitter accounts that end in numbers
4. Mostly blank bios
5. Their casts seems legit…it’s because they are automatically reposting trending content as if it’s their own. 

I don’t know their agenda. I don’t know their endgame. But they have one.  

The best thing you can do is BLOCK them so you can’t accidentally give them interaction (aka social credit). 

The good news is the spam algorithm is catching 99% of them, but I always read “show more replies” so I see them.

6. They reply all your casts with the simplest and most generic replies
7. They are quote casting and repeating the casts that is being used quotes
8. They don’t initially cast in channels

It’s all automated. It’s probably one person running all of the accounts. 

@geoffgolberg would know the correct term. 

I just know they aren’t good accounts at all and we should block and ignore them.

They annoy me sometimes, especially their replies, like dude, put in more effort
