benefits to therapy vs not I think therapy is ultimately not about solving your emotional problems but rather it’s about going to gym but for your emotions. Building muscles that can enable you to lift different things. If you don’t want to get jacked (emotionally) it’s kind of a waste of time in the same way someone who’s really interested in orthonology is going to get really soil science. Just different areas to focus on.

it’s a language. there have been times in conflict when i tried to resolve things the way i knew how, and the other person who doesn’t go to therapy felt irritated that i was “therapizing” them. i wasn’t intentionally. it made me realize that not only do we learn to use the tools through therapy, but we also learn a very distinct set of vocabulary that commands and deploys those tools in specific ways
