One week in and having trouble coming to terms with how much of an adjustment it has been going from one kid to two. My wife and I always swore we wouldnât let having kids stop us from enjoying our favorite pastimes (like recreational sports, hiking, camping, etc) and tbh weâve lived up to that pretty well since having our first. But the toddler plus a newborn is just a lot, I find myself wondering how people have more than 2 (or how single parents survive at all.) Tried going to a soccer game yesterday and it was so hard on my wife with me just being gone for 2 hours that Iâve opted out the rest of the season for my other soccer and volleyball teams. I know weâll get into a flow state eventually and of course itâs all 100% worth it, but I really underestimated the adjustment for sure! (Obvious caveat that I love both my boys and wouldnât change anything for the world. )

The shift from 1 to 2 is huge. I donât think any parent can fathom how much will change until theyâre actually in it. Life will definitely get easier for you, itâs very early days. I hope you find your new normal soon đ€đ€
