Every time I read a comment on X now, I wonder: is this AI?

We no longer know who or what made the content we’re reacting to

AI can help us triangulate truth, and truth-finding protocols like Polymarket and futarchies may soften the blow

How do you label AI assisted posts?  Where the idea might have been conceived by a human, but then it's run through an LLM for polish/ enhancement.

We can no longer verify sources or distinguish manipulated images/vids/content. Truth still exists but it's crowded out by noise...

I guess I'm pushing back on when the distinction gets made about a post truth world. All the highlighted areas were growing with the internet and surrounding technology long before the current rise of AI. AI is unquestionably accelerating these trends and further blurring the lines of what can be trusted, but what makes this the definitive moment of transition?

So clearly the new tech can enhance legitimate information as well. What makes it post truth? The ability of the new tech to fabricate media we used to consider reliable sources (like writing, images, and video)?
