I was chatting with a marketing CEO who builds multi-million-dollar campaigns for Fortune 500s. I asked if she was nervous about AI, and she said yes, but in a very different way than I expected... She’s nervous for the everyday person, and how powerfully they’re going to be manipulated.

I have been thinking about this way too much. I still use ChatGPT, but I often try to spot HOW it’s manipulating me, before it’s too good for me to notice. It gets creepier when you realise how good it’s advice can be too.

I think what we have now is worse than where we are headed. Now it's so early that AI slop seems real to most. But in the future our detection tools and understanding of AI will be much improved allowing us to better determine what we're interacting with. This extends to the agents we'll each have operating on our behalf to clearly engage with other verified agents.

She has a great point. We thought social media was bad... these things are going to exponentially increase the ability of a company to brain hack us. 100 $tipn
