When I query LLMs instead of search engines, I can FEEL the difference in knowledge acquisition. It's 10x to 20x better. Such a wake-up call. Things had gotten so bad on the internet that we couldn't even see how bad they were. Finally, we can look back at search engine optimization (SEO) as a grotesque digital Dark Age: an Orwellian hijacking of our consciousness that wasted the mental processing power of billions of humans around the world every minute of every day. Very glad it’s burning to ash before our eyes.

I feel it too, but doesn't the cycle just continue? People start refining their online data to optimize for AI intake.

absolutely feel this. the shift from seo sludge to direct human-like reasoning is like stepping out of a fog. it's not just faster answers, it's deeper learning. we were all trapped in an internet shaped by ads and clickbait. finally feels like we're reclaiming our minds.

Unfortunate how much search volume Google still retains

It won't last long. People are already trying to figure out how to optimize content for LLM's
