Walking through the different rooms at the Lama temple my wife is explaining the significance of different rooms, different Buddhas, which one to pray to for what. It’s hard not to notice how many people came to do.. just that. Come to the temple to pray for a better job on a hot Friday morning

Makes you think about how ingrained in human nature it is to scapegoat your circumstances to a divine being. Not all things are our faults. Doesn’t mean we have to attribute luck or misfortune to anything

What I don’t know is if that’s being too cynical. That maybe we just need a mechanism to break the “while loop” of what-ifs as an escape mechanism from our own doom loops that trap us in our own thoughts
