What lifts your spirit?

For me, it’s my parents.
It’s the way my mother says a silent prayer every time I leave the house.
It’s the way my father pretends everything’s fine, just so I don’t worry.
It’s knowing that even if the world turns its back, their hearts never will.

Their love doesn’t demand achievement.
Their pride isn’t tied to what I do  it’s tied to who I am.
And when the noise of life gets too loud, I remember that I was enough for them long before I was anything to the world.

That truth that kind of love lifts my spirit more than anything else ever could.
