two things can be true:

1. many farcaster users feel as though a 'FC Cabal' is favored at the client level, and enjoy permanent, outsized benefits from being active, early  

2. its totally possible to join Farcaster and grow an account from 0. I joined on Feb. 5th and my account is in the top 300 users by engagement according to most dashboards I've checked. You have to post & reply consistently, and it really helps to have something to say.

certainly, which is why I think its a valid perception that people have 

but the powerbadge isn't going anywhere, so engaging with active people on here is the best way to approach growing on the network

harder for newer accounts here (no powerbadge) only possible if he knows a lot of powerbadge holders on here for boost

Imagine a social interaction platform where you can’t see replies of small accounts by default bc they don’t meet some not easy to achieve criteria. 

I don’t want to “work” to become visible. Its stupid. Consequently I essentially moved on from FC.

not the powerbadge itself, priority mode and "shadowban" of non pbs did more harm imo

im honestly not seeing new content here, most of the ppl i follow i followed back in march/april, i feel like new content isnt reaching me

and its probably goes the other way, i didnt get a new followers for over a week now, while pbs get literal thousand (mostly bots)

there is some truth to this, but thats also how I felt upon initially starting. 

a few things I would suggest to people:
- consistently replying to accounts you like, thoughtfully, even challenging what they are saying
- join a gated community with a group chat, get to know some larger accounts within other social contexts, people will typically then follow or engage more over time
- cast thoughtfully in channels, often times a channel owner will engage if your post is interesting

what specifically is different between feb and today? power badge?

things are not the same as they were back in februray, its totally different now for new/smaller accounts, they are hidden

Facts: I didn’t know anyone or about any projects at all before I came here. I never really used social media, and this is the first platform I’ve gone all in on, and I’m glad I did. So many great connections and bonds have been made. I'm excited to show up here every day 🙌

most users are not builders, founders in the past, investors etc.

In general, the goal for smaller accounts should be to add value. There are many ways to add value. It could mean to literally add value by building a product or token. Or it can be creating value by adding valuable insights to conversations or even just being funny and kind.

Either because the audience isn't interested, or because we don't have many tips to distribute, or because we don't want to be posting memes every hour??? In which case, how is the content distributed?

Yes, well, you can be as active as Farcaster's club, which is all about farcastering and sending bullets to each other with big accounts, and still have no commitment.

I'm working hard too, but it's not easy. It feels like algorithms are pushing me into the shadows. I get the feeling that my replies aren't being seen by the other person. I didn't spam. You'll see my reply, right?
Still, I'll keep pushing forward steadily. 😀
