farcaster/social graph based token distribution is going to be the norm vs big one-off token launches it’s a significantly better way to incentivize and run a community because it integrates a social layer all tokens and currencies are social instruments that ossify, social graphs allow for that to truly take shape

shifting distribution from team to community makes a lot of sense to me, but unlike airdrop 2 season 1, season 2 (despite price increase) has felt much more obviously detrimental for the network. all boosted channels are dominated by farming from people seeking higher tip allocations, projects are using it for cheap

engagement (shortermism) I'd like to see a tip allocation design process that is as decentralized as distribution more OP RPGF, less airdrop 1

farming on social is more obvious and more damaging to networks than farming onchain, because it dilutes the cultural value of spending time here and I say this as a huge fan of degen, and someone using it to fund project development (I see the value prop as extremely high)

@juli
Running it in a permissioned way with selected tippers per channel is an alternative but it seems possible to run permissionless IF the community advocates for certain rules to get best network effects. - avoid worst farmers - gen focus on rewarding quality - lean into Projects/creators using it to their advantage
