sometimes it's so embarrassing to be happy. as if every smile is a betrayal of those who did not live to see this day. as if every moment of happiness is something forbidden

sometimes people are united by grief. after the explosions, people gather together. they crowd in entrances, in pantries, in kitchens with broken windows. so it is easier to overcome fear.. together

but somewhere out there, there are those who want us to stay trapped in that fear forever.
they want us to be afraid to even smile

but life, no matter what, always finds a way through.
even through the ruins.

without permission.
