"we need to focus on nurturing conversations by giving them more visibility... people are dying for a social media site that is focused on thoughtful, robust, public conversations" Kudos to @kenny who's been banging this drum over and over again. My biggest ongoing frustration here is that thoughtful text-based public conversations are still too difficult to find, follow, and resurface. I use bookmarks daily, but despite my best efforts, plenty of great stuff I want to return to still gets buried in the endless scroll of bookmarks and thus forgotten. That said, I'll continue to do what I can to carve out space for great convos here, because the purple app is my ride-or-die and you nerds are my kinda people. I still believe in the value of channels-as-cozy-corners, too (not hashtags). Yes, they're in a holding pattern for now and need a new form factor, but nonetheless I think they're directionally correct. Also I recently started using @cura to manage my channels, and it makes a big difference.

Glad more folks are talking about this. There is an amazing amount of content in all forms scattered all over the platform.

Yes. Feels like there's a lot of untapped potential there, too. I hope channels will eventually have better options for preserving context over time and facilitating slow ongoing convos. I tried the curate function in Cura in one of my channels for the first time this week, and it feels like an encouraging step in the right direction.
