I keep thinking of animals (such as pigeons) who experience the world at a higher FPS, i.e. in slow motion / higher temporal resolution relative to us Humans experience this occasionally e.g. when going through an accident / life-threatening situation Is it possible to chemically induce this state of hyper vigilance?

First usage of Tramadol after a long break off it tends to have this subjective effect on me. Maybe 20% improvement? Quite amazing for video games, breezing through situations that would kill me 99% of the time in my baseline state.

Interesting! I see it’s an opioid painkiller, I would have naively assumed that it would dull your senses, not make them sharper. Also, first time I hear of video game doping 😅 250 $degen
