Counterpoint is that many crypto founders are knowingly making a Faustian bargain — they ask for many people to distribute for them, often times in the hope/expectation of being repaid by airdrops (or retail liquidity) in future. (I’m not saying it’s wrong, I just don’t feel particularly bad for founders)

sure, agreed, but also why did Zora apply for and receive public goods funding in the first place as a VC-backed private company? not really the definition of a public good that needs funding
