A Grief Observed, was required reading for one of my psychology courses and it’s stayed with me since I read it. It’s short, but not an easy read. It’s rare to see someone so gifted with words chronicle the stages of grief unintentionally. It was written before the psychological framework was documented. It’s raw and difficult but very powerful. Not a casual read per se, but one I find myself re-reading when I have to deal with those emotions.
