It’s always been a little too weird for me when I tried. I get the appeal and how more code or whatever is visible, but for me the mental “strain” of just finding it weird always negated any upside. I would love to check out one of those square screens though, I think that might work for me.

i've used a square screen it was great! just like, an infinite plane of pixels. it was huge. this was years ago and it was pretty expensive, from some weird vendor. not sure what the options are now.
