i've used a square screen it was great! just like, an infinite plane of pixels. it was huge. this was years ago and it was pretty expensive, from some weird vendor. not sure what the options are now.

It’s always been a little too weird for me when I tried. I get the appeal and how more code or whatever is visible, but for me the mental “strain” of just finding it weird always negated any upside. I would love to check out one of those square screens though, I think that might work for me.

ha that's true, nearly everything is a scroller that's more tall than wide. feels weird to be looking up and down all day though.

webpages are long not wide

do you use your phone in landscape or portrait more?

I use a secondary monitor in portrait, mostly for better fitting several applications/browser windows stacked in landscape.

Sooo Spotify, coin charts, whatever else I need to see can be 'always on' and viewable at a glance.

Primary is still in landscape 😉
