Creator rewards algorithm will be updated later today. The main change is that repeat engagement from the same user over the week will give you fewer points than it used to. 

Scores will go down a little bit as a result of this change.

Dear Farcaster friends, please help me push back against @v and his team's latest algo update because it's unfair!

Why is this important?

Farcaster OGs like me have spent countless hours to build communities and develop meaningful relationships with the people following us. I've shared so many helpful posts in my /petar channel and you can see in the comments that I've helped people, not engagement farmed for the weekly Rewards

Besides, I've been constantly giving away my weekly Rewards to my community because this is what Farcaster encouraged us in the very beginning - to tip the people we engage with

However, V and co decided to devalue what me and others have built as real communities and push our accounts down the Rewards leaderboard, while pushing questionable accounts to the top

How is this fair?

What is my incentive to continue casting? What is my community's incentive to keep showing up?

I think this update is unfinished and doesn't take into account many people's opinions. For example, let's start with my situation: I have been registered on Farcaster for more than two years, during this time I have managed to meet many people, join communities, why now this has turned into a negative quality? Why should I get less points for my weekly ranking if I still communicate with the circle of people I've accumulated over the time I've been here?

Yes, there may be people who farm together, but why should other users who have known each other for a long time and have been communicating on this platform for years suffer because of this?

This is another big problem with social platforms, it's very hard to separate the really guilty people from the not guilty ones. But for some reason nobody cares about this point and subsequent updates penalise the innocent.

It feels like Farcaster is transitioning from being the central client to becoming part of a decentralized ecosystem. ( warpcast ---> farcaster is a great example)

Some will use CBW, others DegenApp, FireFly, or Recaster, While some would rather stay here.

The Farcaster team seems to be stepping back from community engagement and user feedback. Unfortunately, the algorithm very often  unfairly tags wonderful people-builders-creators as spam, which is really sad thing.

That said, I genuinely hope they continue to maintain the technical foundation. I may not fully understand how it all works, but the idea of a billion people being here-each in their own clients, communities, pursuing unique goals-sounds incredible to me.

It’s just tiring to constantly ask the developers to fix filter issues and never hear back. The beauty of other clients is that I can see everyone there, no barriers. 

in each client, I imagine it's like this  --- own system of rewards, its own algrothims, its own communities, its own custumer service that you could contact any time and get a feedback and there will be a lot of people who will really care.

By the way, it also creates a small labour market. Where people can do what they like and be rewarded for it.( I work in crypto you know )

We all don't like it but farmers keep gaming the system. I keep wondering about the account with 300 followers toping the leader board how did this happen? It's also funny in next 3 weeks they won't be no where to be found. It all indicate that they are gaming the system

I'm also against it. It punishes creators for having a community, doesn't seem fair
