I don't fully understand what I'm looking at when I open the search page and wallet. This isn't a criticism of the team's recent updates - just a public confession of my ignorance to all of you who seem to swim through all of this like fish in water. I mostly ignore tokens here - not out of cynicism, but confusion. When I click on token pages, even popular ones like $DEGEN, I struggle to understand what the project actually is. (The bottom of the $DEGEN page says "No casts about this token yet.") After a few months on Farcaster, I feel I'm missing out on an interesting way to support interesting projects - beyond donating via Crowdfund. The terms I'm seeing blend together in my eyes: "app coins, "memecoins", "creator coins", "streamer coins" and things just called "coins." Plus "scam coins" flagged by the community. This cast is not a request for trading tips. I'm looking for your personal perspectives or reading recommendations to understand what drives this activity everyone seems so fluent in and what makes Farcaster a special place to do it. What motivates you to buy tokens here? I'm having a boomer moment and want to overcome it. Thank you.

What would you like to see on a token page to help you better understand a token and what it is/does/etc?

Example: FAIR came on my radar after seeing this person’s activity. When I go to the page, I can see the creator (helpful - a username I recognize). The website is the X page (which doesn’t open my X app on mobile). If the token has a corresponding Farcaster handle (which it does in this case @faircaster), I’d like to see that included in the details list. A helpful aspect of the token page is seeing official links between accounts and tokens. That helps prevent mixups over a fake token by a similar name. It says there aren’t any casts about the token, which isn’t true. For me, the most helpful information beyond what exists on the page now would be high signal conversation around the token. Top casts and blog posts from people (creator, credible buyers, users I already follow). A creator-approved description on the page would also be nice. I imagine that some people will be gaming the $1000+ buys list to appear on top of the search page. So I’m inclined to view these purchase activities going forward as marketing more than signals of conviction, unless they’re paired with a strong social signal (thoughtful cast by a credible person).
