Caption positioning: Notice how similar all of these examples are. The captions are high enough to avoid getting covered by the description text in playback, but rarely higher than center. YouTube shorts of big accounts are a great place to observe short form video editing. They’ve learned a lot by trial and error.

as an exception, I could imagine landscape-only videos without people - in that case, captions and text overlays could work when placed at the top

Good point! The current video feed in Farcaster looks best with 9:16 videos but there is also the @pinetree player here for long form. Personally I feel long form's best in landscape.
