🌐 During a conversation with Ryan MacDowell, who leads events at Base, one remark left a strong impression. He emphasized that community and culture shouldn't be like fireworks—fleeting and explosive—but should be led by people who, within a shared worldview, seek to shape part of their own lives. Inspired by that idea, I spent last weekend reflecting on what community truly means. To me, the Base community is not just a space for crypto-economic activity—It is a social collective where people voluntarily connect, share belonging through both affinity and friction, and grow alongside the ecosystem.

Below are insights from a great article I came across that I’d like to share: 1/ A group of people merely being connected does not make a community.
2/ We must distinguish between businesses that naturally emerge from a community and those that consume it.
3/ Communities cannot be sustained by resonance alone. They need structures that can hold even through unfamiliarity and conflict.
4/ The power of a community reveals itself gradually, through interaction among its members. 5/ A community’s vitality lies in the process of co-creation.
6/ Community participants must take initiative to renew its value over time.
7/ A small, tight-knit network must form first for a broader, looser community to maintain identity and strength. https://www.hani.co.kr/arti/economy/economy_general/915682.html
