Re: Why is it called Tortoise? Tortoise represents the antithesis of what the status quo is for music and tech. Musicians are told to constantly make content and always be available. Technology companies are all about moving fast and being futuristic. Tortoises are slow and ancient, giving a message to musicians and their listeners that it's ok to move slowly and unplug. It's okay to tune out and focus on what you love.

I totally resonate with this. It is precisely the mentality that needs to be rescued. Today in the morning I was listening to Prison Song by Graham Nash a song from 1974 and it literally is a classic, a song with lyrics that apply to any era. Good music never gets old, the message never expires. Today everything is disposable and really, sometimes it's daunting to compete against that structure of music. But here we go on, and faithful to the belief that music is something transcendent.
