Everything you want has a price. Nothing is free. But it's actually worse than that. Or at least it usually is. It's worse because you need to pay in advance, and you never know if you're going to get it. You could spend ten years trying to build a company and never turn a profit. You could spend ten years on a relationship that falls apart. It sucks. But you can't do it any other way. Make peace with it. If something truly matters, pay for it. Even if there's no guarantee.
