i prefer a fresh cut and for decades have gotten a one every sunday. this year i decided to get a buzz cut that i can potentially self-groom. also helps with aging and keeping scalp healthy etc. 3months in and happy to report that fades starting to look ~pro. best decision ever. should've done it earlier

pic in few more weeks once i've got a vanisher. idk pro tip but things that helped: 1. get a basic/decent clipper+detailer https://www.amazon.ca/WAHL-5-STAR-BARBER-COMBO/dp/B01LY2ZJDJ 2. high fades easier to achieve b/c can align marks with widest part of head on the sides and bone at back 3. really hard to fade if doing 0 and 1mm. easier to mistake/learn and fix if doing 0.5 and 0 ie open/closed guard and detailer to only do sides/burns 4. do the top before the sides/back. b/c then you know length you're fading into 5. invest in mirror and bristle brush. finding a non-boar bristle (aka synthetic/vegan) brush was so hard!! https://www.amazon.ca/360%C2%B0-Mirror-Cutting-Adjustable-Telescoping/dp/B0813WWWDT need to learn: 1. better use of detailer for the zero and spots on top (mix low volume areas aka bald spots with high) 2. using vanisher towards very bottom for sleek finish he's got simple videos to get started: https://youtu.be/wZQaQ5mb_C8?si=c1kXDtpq6mEXvZjT

other things i'm doing and seeing new growth (besides stress mgmt, sleep, nutrition): 1. biotin 2. regular desi mom oil mix (mustard, black seed, rosemary, almond, castor). apply heated on fresh cut after shower 3. use bamboo comb to massage scalp 1-2x per day (helps with sleep too) <none of this is backed by any research at all; just my gut and yolo>
