a bit more on Twitter’s creator program that’s so great you’ll just have to: ✅ grind for a while to be eligible (Nikita says 6 months but likely much much longer — like years — on 10 years & I still don’t) ✅ qualify for at least $50 in rewards before they even attempt to pay you ✅ may take up to 90 days once you qualify easy peesy

points 2 & 3, i agree are very not user friendly and frustrating however, i don't think it's correct to frame earning on farcaster and or base app vs x as more accessible or feasible given it's largely due to differences of scale/size of user base over anything specific to crypto or web3

Currently in this moment, way easier & quicker to earn rewards here. No question. But that wasn’t even my main issue with his post. He started with “if you want to get rich on X…” and that framing alone is ridiculous. No one is getting “rich” merely posting on X. It’s giving this “oh you’ll never get rich off memecoins but if you grind here on X you’ll get rich!” Which we know is just not true. I’ve only paid Twitter/X and never been paid by them which is the experience of 90+% of users. Flip that to FC/Base and it’s almost hard not to earn. And easier to find an audience all though scaling the audience is the challenge. We literally get the bulk of our live audience from Twitter. Not pushing back on the distribution. But if someone today starts posting on X and casting here, they will earn here way sooner than over there, and potentially the same day! It will likely take years for most to do the same on X.

And easier to find an audience all though scaling the audience is the challenge. but i disagree on this as it's pretty much saying, if you can't hack it on the content creator varsity team, go down to the JV squad and play with the kids! 🤣 it's difficult for content creators to earn from platforms directly because the platforms will always be incentivized against you and i don't think farcaster the app or base app are any different as clients - they control who gets payouts and can nerf you from their apps if they want. only difference here is, you can technically keep your social graph; but this means nothing if there's no app to access it from! i do think nikita's view on this is correct, crypto or not, the best way for ALL creators to monetize themselves in the long run is by leveraging their content and reputation into external deals with external actors. and the added bonus of a web3 based social network is, you can move with your graph to other compatible apps if/when there are any.
