Proven, long-time contributors should be trusted with open-ended funding. DAOs could use more trustful relationships. Voting for everything all the time can only take us so far

instituting the burn is not an agreement to be more loose with our funding standards! (i know you don’t mean this but “if burn” kind of implies that energy a little bit?) also more buffer in funding, larger amounts, etc for sure but “open-ended” we need to be careful with

Sorry, I was a bit ambiguous there. I meant open-ended scope, not duration. Currently there's a lot of expectations that props include all the minutia. It consistently shows up in vote reasons. For proven contributors, I think we should make directional bets, instead of detailed work plans.

Some of this might be a cultural shift that could happen (is happening?) but I generally agree I do think you can generally stray a bit from what your original prop was without too much concern, though. Kind of happening for me rn with Propdates.

Looking ahead though, I’d like to continue Propdates, Mogu, and try out the DevRel thing + explore new ideas. Should I do separate specific props and state each as part time? Or one big one? I think providing stability and openness to explore to some contributors could be nice but obviously has trade offs

for solo things would make single prop (propdates, mogu, etc). for the dev rel thing you're doing with others would make that into a separate thing. much easier to reason about those two endeavors separately.

@volky.eth I think the dao cultural context on why we're very wary on just betting on ppl open-ended mandate style is that it becomes very hard for the dao to reason about when things go south. we had this experience with noun 22 early on where at some point many were unhappy but a lot of drama emerged
