⚲ Home-cooked Tunisian lunch 🇹🇳
I’m obsessed with the variety here - fresh, colorful, and so flavorful. Today’s spread:
🍚 Riz Djerbien: A one-pot rice dish made with chicken, potatoes, spinach, peas, and spices. So comforting and packed with flavor.
🍆 Slata Mechouia – Fire-roasted pepper and tomato salad topped with tuna, eggs, and olive oil. Smoky, spicy, and such a staple here.
🥕 Slata S’firiya – A carrot mash cooked with garlic, cumin, also topped with tuna and eggs. Slightly sweet with a kick.
🍝 Makrouna – Elbow pasta tossed in tomato-based sauce with Tunisian spices.
🌿 Maqouda & Fried Fish – Potato and herb fritters served with pan-fried fish.
Served with warm kesra (semolina bread) on the side. Every dish is homemade by my partner’s mom 💛 12 replies
