actually reminded me a lot of plurality and how we’d get a lot farther and make more progress if everything wasn’t framed as right vs wrong

also today was trying to learn and expand my understanding by talking through something, and was immediately hit with: “I don’t get the point you’re making.” it was jarring: i wasn’t trying to make a point, i was trying to learn. i forget for some people everything is about winning an argument or being most right.

the person was sharing a general perception and what may prevent her from inviting other people, which is helpful information to understand any top of funnel problems (which we have).

instead of listening to understand, it was met with “listening to respond” and a series of questions around how she’s wrong or not rooted in reality as if only one truth can exist.
