Double edged sword tbh. I was extremely passionate about music. Pursued it professionally for many years. Eventually came to the conclusion from OP’s cast. Always said, “once I make X, I’ll go back to music.” But as time passed, X became Y, priorities changed, and the reality became much clearer. Now, I pluck my guitar between meetings sometimes while my CDJs collect dust. It’s not all bad. Quite the contrary. I’ve found new passions and love what I do now. I’ve always had an affinity for technology. Perhaps it was my hidden passion all along.

i think the key is being fluid in the wrapping that you decide for "what you do in life". the less attached you are to it, and the less your personality /depends on it/, the more free you are. the goal is to relate to anything as if it was your passion. craftsmanship is independent from its object of craft iMHO
