My aunt was skeptical about AI. I showed her ChatGPT’s voice feature. She subscribed on the spot. Earlier this month, a friend’s mom — an artist — wanted to brainstorm ideas. I showed her the image generation tool and how easy it is to edit/remix. Instant subscription. There’s nothing in crypto that onboards like this. Nothing that instantly clicks with everyday, non-technical people.

I had a similar realisation today. I had a doctor visit today where the diagnosis was identical to what ChatGPT suggested. Over the last year or two, I have used gpt for diagnosing two emergency medical conditions one of which saved my mums life, have used it to find my lost cat, heck it played a significant role in me starting coding again. We haven’t seen anything remotely impactful in crypto yet. Crypto principles resonate with me and I strongly believe at some level crypto is important for freedom. But purely from a utility or delight standpoint we haven’t had anything yet (maybe polymarket is one exception) Hopefully someone will figure something soon

From my experience over the years, I think it comes down to one or more of these: 1. Lack of clear value proposition (that’s not just speculative trading) 2. Confusing language and concepts uncommon elsewhere, “why do I connect my wallet?” 3. Generally bad UX and recovery options

Some extreme abstraction via @privy or @bankr to simplify crypto, and now we only need a killer mainstream product to click with normies 😌
