i get how marketmaking works on an exchange. how does it work for prediction markets? also, polymarket said they had $387m in total volume for all of july, and there's only $180m total bet on the election over all time. you think there's $1.2B of liquidity out there ready to bet the other side?

I mean I think the reality is much darker than the seemingly obvious. “Smart money” is pricing in an assassination or election rigging. It’s arguably the probable outcome; I hope it’s not the outcome.

But where is "public sentiment" coming from if not from the same " signals" everyone else has (including market signals)? If someone manipulates the market to change sentiment, the market cannot "know" that. It's not omnipotent. Isn't the manipulation a signal like everything else?
