@automod what’s the basic setup for removing spam automatically from a channel?

it depends, it's a hard problem. focused on this from next week. some common: - use power badge plus + "followed by nicholas (and other blessed accounts)" - gate by token holders / subscribers - just enable power badge and have a small mod team that lets anyone curate things into Main or remove as needed. familiar with @botornot? can try that in /social next week if interested.

i wish i could just tick a box to filter out bots and outsource that definition to whatever you think makes sense how could i use botornot here?

yeah, that's the goal. power badge is close to that, its just aggressive (~3500 ppl). automod will have a botornot integration next week, if it detects bot will be filtered out. /social and /gaming would be first channels to try if interested.

what's the type of spam you typically see? people's definitions vary so an example is always helpful. also, I presume you're referring to Recent since Main is only power badge folks and usually pretty clean. That might be the simplest option for you: turn on moderation with automod, filter out non power badge holders, turn on reverse chrono & disable Recent.
