I wonder whether putting it into a relatively small channel affected it (I don't know how this affects reach, but tend to cast without a channel, unless I *want* to restrict the views to people in that channel)

That’s a really interesting take, and pretty useful info. I had no idea that posting in a small channel might limit your reach to just that channel’s followers. Can anyone confirm if that’s actually how it works? 🤯

They are still figuring out how channels fit in. It didn’t always work this way (in the past, channels would get you a boost)

Thank you mate, that’s really valuable info! Tbh I’m surprised that’s how it works. IMO, it actually makes it harder for new channels to grow, since users don’t have much motivation to post in them if they can’t reach a wider audience

To me it made sense that the algo would show the posts also to non-members

But at the same time, the Farcaster idea for channels seems to be "small but high quality", they also added the invite requirement to join
