How are the colours assigned? Is there a standard where some hues get translated to blue etc.? Or is it a completely arbitrary decision?

Minerals are already there present on the surface of the moon. Each colour represent a different mineral present. I just teased out the colour in Lightroom and Photoshop, nothings been added.
