If Elon survives this with enough of his empire intact and a rerun to center left, I might consider going active on X again. But I suspect we’ll be left with scorched earth there.

And who exactly from the center left would want Musk's support? Trans rights activists? Social justice advocates? Worker unions? Conceivably, a person can believably shift their political perspective during the course of their life. But once they've committed horrible acts in the name of opportunistic greed, not all their wealth and promises of Humanity 2.0 on another planet can make up for the human cost incurred. So your suspicions are probably right. 😁

Abundance crowd None of these groups you mention is is center left. They’re all left to far left.

I’ve done a bit of reading (ok, ChatGPT has) and while you’re right about the first two groups, labour unions seem to be generally regarded as centre left. Nonetheless, I still argue Musk can’t pull off an Arnie. Too far gone.

Even unions are complex. Leaders are not rank and file. A lot of the unionized working class has in fact been voting red since Reagan for cultural reasons. Trad democrat labor focused leaders from AoC to Bernie and people supporting them are far left coded. The part of labor that hasn’t swung right tends far left. Ie it’s center right plus far left. Tesla employees who want to unionize may hate musk but many others in union class love both him and trump for culture reasons. World is complex.
