The Starforger’s Lantern 
In a world where the sky had no stars, the people lived by the dim glow of their own small fires, each flame jealously guarded. They called themselves the Ashbound, for their lives were tethered to the embers they tended, never daring to wander far from their hearths. Fear of the endless dark kept them small, their dreams no bigger than the flickering light they could carry. But the elders whispered of the Luminary, a figure from ancient tales who could forge stars from the raw stuff of hope. They said the Luminary was no god, but a mortal who had once walked among the Ashbound, carrying a lantern that burned with a light so fierce it could pierce the void.
