Pretty much only worth if you are graduating from top school Hence I assume why enrollments are only trending low for “normal” colleges

I have always wondered how did this tradition of ultra expensive high-end universities started. Who still supports it aside from themselves? Would love to know more. Where I come from even the expensive private universities are like 2k a year, which is not small amount but definitely affordable.
