I talk about being active in your community because it’s something I believe in

Just the basics of saying hello to people you see frequently, shopping small businesses, not living your day-to-day in isolation, taking walks without headphones in, going to local events, etc

So I’m at my local farmers market every Saturday, and today I’m hanging out with my homie who sells banana bread there. Another vendor who I buy ginger juices from walks by and says wassup, he’s like “I didn’t know yall knew each other!”

That’s my dude!

Then a little bit later I see my tattoo artist walk by, who just recently moved to Miami. So I called her out to say hello, it was the second time I’ve seen her in a the past month or so, she’s like “wow I’m just seeing you everywhere!”

Then I get home and get into my elevator with a woman who I chatted with briefly at the market, she’s renting a unit in my building for a month or so

If you start being active in your community, really cool things can happen
