Fun little I speak Spanish moment

The apartment building I live in has office space on the ground floor 

It’s been empty for a minute but there’s a new tenant coming in and they’ve been doing construction but we don’t know what it is yet

So I see a dude hanging out front and ask him what the business is

He looks at me with that “I have no idea what you’re saying look” and after a minute goes, “ehhh, habla español?”

Luckily, yes I do!

So I ask him again in Spanish and he tells me it’s a nail salon

Ok cool

My favorite thing about learning the language is being able to have these little interactions! And the surprise on his face when in fact I do speak Spanish lol
