RPC providers might specify higher than default gas limits, to avoid getting tons of low gas transactions into their mempools, which will never make it, but require resources. Most (all) of RPCs you can access are not validators, so they are just passing your transactions to validators.

Yeah, my [work] use case is infrastructure code, so a lot more of "write once, run forever" code. For application development rust is the choice for me.
