Moving into an old apartment is fun, it's like inheriting a bunch of technical debt. The amount of things I've learned from all the different gliders to hang curtains (once I asked the AI to tell me the name of the hanger I need to buy, even with photos it had no clue, went to the curtain shop and instantly found what I needed lol) to putting up lamps without electrocuting myself is really amazing. Now I am seeing actual results of my own labor and that's pretty satisfying. It might not always be perfect, but it's me... And slowly it's all turning rather cute.

Oh I hear you ;-p. We just moved into a flat that was built in the 1890's - it's mental! Nothing is standard - everything is bespoke - the floors obey their own rules of physics and sometimes it seems like we have a whole family of poltergeists living in the walls. But it's also brilliant - incredibly well built and the light from the huge windows is fabulous. We've got most of the house re-painted - the floors are next followed by things like window boxes and new curtains - and it all costs a bloody fortune - but - as you say - slowly it's turning into something rather cute / groovy. Good luck with it!
