i need to acquire a solid consumer (maybe consumer plusβ„’) grade 3d printer any recommendations? (brands and/or specific models) is PLA still the material to go with? i don't need a large build volume. parts don't need to handle high stress. i'll be doing mostly R&D/prototyping and low-volume fab. my prior experience was intensive but about 10 years ago (mostly Makerbots using PLA)

My friend just bought this one and loves it. He bought the kit and self-assembly took like 15 hours so pre-assembled might be worth the extra $$ https://www.prusa3d.com/product/prusa-core-one-kit/

Also from him: I know people with Bambu Labs X1 and Bambu Labs P1. They both are very happy with them. Bambu is more of the Apple version that has great UX and just works but locks you into the platform more than other options
